After months of planning a wedding in Cancun, Mexico with our travel agent, Katie Rahr, our plans drastically changed. The week before we were to fly out for the wedding, the swine flu broke out in Mexico, and travel there was not advised. Katie grabbed the bull by the horns and recommended Maui, Hawaii, and then worked around the clock to find flights and a hotel for all 29 of our guests. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise and we had a gorgeous and wonderful wedding. It was more than we ever imagined, and none of it would have been possible without Katie…she’s the best! ~ Shelby & Chad ~

Planning our destination wedding in Negril, Jamaica with Katie was a breeze — after experiencing a beautiful beach wedding that was completely stress free, I can’t imagine getting married in any other location! My family used Katie to plan several family vacations over the years so when Chris and I got engaged on vacation in Mexico we thought ‘What would be better than sharing this beautiful place with all of our friends and family at our wedding ceremony?’ So we called Katie right away to plan our dream destination wedding. When Brett and I got engaged we both wanted to have a destination wedding, somewhere beautiful and fun where we could go with our family and friends. We didn’t know where to begin planning, so I called and Katie Rahr, the wedding specialist, was there to help us every step of the way. We chose Beaches resort in Negril, Jamaica for our destination wedding and Katie made that all possible. She helped me get everything I wanted, from flowers, to cake, and the reception dinner and dance. She made it very easy for our 35 guests to come with us . Its hard to plan a wedding and not see “in person” what the place or decor is going to look like……when we got there our wedding day and vacation was better than I ever dreamed it would be! My husband and I always said when we married, we would wed on a beach. Unsure of where we wanted to go and having no idea where to start we stopped in and visited with Katie. She listened as we told her what we wanted out of our destination wedding and gave us several different options. As we sorted through all our options, and changed our minds several times, Katie remained patient and very helpful. She answered all of our questions promptly and went out of her way to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted and more for our big day.We were married on the beach at Couples Swept Away in Negril, Jamaica and had the time of our lives!! The wedding was beautiful and far exceeded our expectations!!! We stayed at the resort for ten amazing days! When we returned, Katie was immediately in contact with us to see how the wedding was and if we enjoyed our trip. We decided on a destination Wedding and wanted to plan it and have the Wedding all in 6 months, with no idea where we wanted to have it. Katie sent us several top pick destinations and once we selected our Hotel she helped us do everything from creating the “save the date” notifications to working directly with our Wedding Planner in Playa Del Carmen. We had 32 guests attend our Beach Wedding, Dinner and Dance and it was so much better than I could have ever imagined.  It was important for not only us but our guests to have a truly memorable experience and we got that and more. Thanks to our travel agent, Katie Rahr, and Vows in Paradise our dream wedding became a reality. From the moment we discovered VIP/Travel Travel, we knew they would be the team we would choose to help us plan our destination wedding. Initially we were undecided as to where we wanted to go for our destination wedding, so we simply stopped in to VIP Weddings to get some brochures. We set up a meeting with Katie and she answered so many of our questions. She was instrumental in helping us make our final destination decision. We decided upon Negril, Jamaica for many reasons: the amazing beaches, the simplicity of the marriage process on the island of Jamaica, and the ease of traveling to and from Jamaica for our guests and ourselves. We then had to decide which resort we wanted to get married at. We knew we wanted an all-inclusive resort, but weren't’t sure how to make our final selection. Neither of us had ever been to Jamaica or an all-inclusive resort. Katie gave us many suggestions and shared her extensive knowledge about several of the resorts in Jamaica. It meant a lot to us that she had been to many of the resorts we were considering.  In addition to travel planning, Katie introduced us to the Vows in Paradise Honeymoon Gift Registry website. At first we were hesitant to use this website. We didn’t think our guests would utilize it, so we were apprehensive to take the time to set it up. I’m so glad we did! Thanks to our guests we have some amazing wedding and honeymoon memories. The time we took setting up the website was well worth it. We owe a huge amount of gratitude to Katie Rahr and Vows in Paradise for making our wedding and honeymoon an unforgettable experience. We truly did take our Vows in Paradise. My now husband and I always knew we wanted to do a smaller wedding. The first thought that came to my mind was a destination wedding. I went to Katie Rahr for help in figuring out the destination, prices, flying, etc. Our flight was cancelled because of weather, and she was so accommodating to help us schedule the earliest flight.
